I believe that beepers are not an absolute necessity even though they are a mainstream now. That is true that they are comfortable in usage but it still can cause a lot of trouble for the users. First of all because they can be annoying to other people and secondly that they can be stolen so the owner than loses the money he paid for it.

I think most students carry beepers just to show off, not because they are extremely necessary. If parents want to reach their children in an emergency, they should call a school office as they used to do for years before the beepers. If somebody else wants to call they can do it some other time. Such as in my math class the teacher was explaining something and all of the sudden somebody's beeper beeps, so everybody forgets about the teacher and the material and starts looking around to see who was that. Of course after that the teacher starts to call deans and stuff. The student just got himself into unneeded trouble.

I think at least beepers should be banned at school and if the person wants to use it let them do it someplace else. Mostly I don’t like beepers because they are annoying, and if people say it can be set on a vibrating mode and stuff it's just a talk, they wouldn't do it anyway as they don't do it now. And one more thing, I don’t believe people are being called constantly all the time and they cannot live without such a thing as a beeper.
